Vola taps, showers and accessories have been produced in Denmark for more than fifty years. Combining traditional Scandinavian craftsmanship with the most modern engineering technology ensures the highest standard of precision and quality finishing. The production line is based on the LEAN principles, where each tap is made to order favouring one-off production over mass production.

The first Vola taps were designed for the National Bank of Denmark by Arne Jacobsen in 1968. At the time a design where all the mechanical parts of the mixer are hidden leaving only the handles and spout exposed was a completely new concept, but Jacobsen realised that this idea combined with his functional approach to design could be developed. With that basic principle in mind, the simple and concise Vola design that we know today was conceived.

Vola have received countless design awards since their introduction, the first being the ID-Prize in 1969 and during the 1970’s Vola were selected to be part of the design collection at the Museum of Modern Art, New York. More recent accolades include the German Design Awards winner for the 060 Round Shower Head.
