Achille Castiglioni

Achille Castiglioni (Milan 1918-2002), architect and designer, one of the great masters of Italian design, won the Compasso d’Oro award nine times. He worked in the fields of architecture, urban planning and industrial design.

In 1944, Castiglioni joined his two elder brothers, Livio and Pier Giacomo, at their design studio and together they created groundbreaking products that took the design world by storm. Known for quirky, intelligent and original products, the Castiglioni brothers created design classics that are still manufactured today, most famously for the timeless designs of the Arco Floor Lamp, Taccia and Snoopy lamp.

Achile Castiglioni’s originality and practical genius mean he is rightly known as one of the greatest industrial designers of the 20th century.
